Composer – Cellist – Arranger

About

Eclectic musician, cellist and composer, he writes music with endless curiosity in very different musical styles and environments such as contemporary music for the stage, soundtracks for films, animation films, world music, flamenco, music for dance, for theater, electronic and electro-acoustic music.

He is currently lecturer at SAE Institute Madrid (Middlesex University), freelance composer and cellist.

He studied cello and composition with some of the finest educators in Spain, The Netherlands, Belgium and the US such as Jeroen D’hoe (Belgium) and David Rosenboom (US) among other great masters.

In 2012 he obtains his MFA diploma as a Performer-Composer in California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), Los Angeles, California (US).
In 2010 he graduates in Composition with Honors at the Utrecht Conservatorium, The Netherlands.

In 2014 he creates EIMUS (Ecosystem of Musical Impulse), a non-profit platform for music self production and musicians profesional development.

He has being part of different International Collaborative projects as “A Counterpoint of Tolerance” and the Jakarta Institute of the Arts/Calarts residency collaboration.

In 2012 he creates the “Socio Political Art Collective” as collaborative project inspired on social justice and which aim is to have a constructive resonance in the society.

He was Composer in Residence (guest teacher) in the Utrecht Conservatory for the academic year 2013/14.

He is Artist in Residence at SeMA NANJI (Seoul Musem of Art) for the summer 2016.

Iván is an active member of the cooperative SMartib.
